Our daughter has been working with Lauren at the Speech, Language, & Literacy Lab for about a year now. When our daughter started with Lauren, she demonstrated poor word level reading and fluency difficulties. Not only was she struggling and behind (even before the pandemic), she had such an aversion to reading. There were many tears and feelings of frustration when it came to reading. That instantly changed when she started working with Lauren. She looked forward to her weekly sessions and we can proudly say she is reading at grade level and has a pure love for reading. There isn’t a moment where she isn’t reading something! We are beyond grateful for lauren in helping close the gap, but even more so we are so grateful for sparking that love of reading and helping grow that confidence! We have appreciated her knowledge, thorough assessments and progress monitoring, constant communication, and honesty! We 100% recommend Lauren and honestly would be in a completely different place right now without her services!

A silver lining of this Covid pandemic?!?!? Finding Lauren Parker! My son has dyslexia and when school closed we were desperate to find another resource to help him out. I stumbled upon Lauren — and I thank God I did because she has been so helpful and relatable to both myself and my son. She gets the whole thing.. being the struggling child, being the unsure parent, trying to get it all to work out. She has really taught my son key strategies and confidence and he has made great strides. And she explains it all along the way. I thought my son would suffer/struggle significantly in middle school but with Lauren’s help he is doing so much better than we hoped!! And he loves Lauren! The only tutor he actually doesn’t mind going to (and we have had our share!). I recommend Lauren to everyone I know who has a child that could use some help! Thank you, thank you, Lauren.

I am so grateful for the services of the Speech, Language and Literacy Lab. My daughter worked with Ruth Ann for speech services and she gained so much confidence and her articulation skills flourished. She looked forward to going each week because of her talented therapist who made learning engaging and fun. We were so lucky to find Lauren! My 4 year old was having trouble with articulation of some sounds. It wasn’t enough to require speech therapy though the schools but it was frustrating to him when others could not understand since he is a very verbal chatty kid. She is so nice, kind and honest. He LOVED going and was always disappointed he didn’t get to stay longer. It didn’t take long working with Lauren and we could hear the improvement! Lauren is so supportive of parents and was happy to give me tips on what we could do that will help. I am so happy in our choice to use the Speech, Language and Literacy lab!

With the fate of the public schools unknown, I took my five year old twins for a speech and language evaluation with Lauren. The boys were nervous but Lauren’s calm and welcoming demeanor quickly calmed their nerves. Lauren’s developmental approach to evaluating the boys made them feel like they were just playing games and having fun. She kept them engaged and on task the entire time. Lauren is very thorough in her process and explanation as well as in her suggestions for services. We feel so lucky to have met Lauren and really look forward to continuing our work with her!
Lauren works with my son who has dyslexia. He absolutely loves her and she is amazing with kids. We are so grateful for all her knowledge and her love of helping kids.
